Rated ‘Outstanding’ in care (September 2019), The Hollies Care Home is a small loving independent family run care home under the family ownership for 16 years. We are passionate in providing excellent person-centred residential care to 18 residents, specialising in mental health.

Located in the Norton Town Centre, the Hollies has dedicated caring staff to attend to all the needs with all the amenities one may need on their doorstep. Staff at Hollies believe strongly in the mission statement outlining their commitment to providing excellent care. All staff believe that people need to feel content and secure- physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Residents have a choice of a number of downstairs lounges, an internal garden and town centre location and access to local travel. The home cooks a varied menu providing fresh, nutritional and exciting food. Meet the Manager

Hello, I’m Peter, the Registered Manager at The Hollies Stockton.

I have worked in health and social care for the last 15 years, working from Support Worker level all the way up to Assistant Director at an award winning care home specialising in enduring mental health conditions.

I am excited to be a part of the Caring and Leading group where I can continue to use my knowledge and expertise to help vulnerable adults with mental health difficulties be who they want to be in a safe and positive environment. My focus is on creating person-centered care plans that promote independence, well-being, and personal growth.

I am dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and open communication. I believe in the power of collaborative feedback and am committed to ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care.

My brother has currently had one of the longest terms of residence at the Hollies. He was always tricky to place prior and had quite a few unhappy placements beforehand but this has become his happy home, for a very long time. The last year or so has been tough and I am so grateful for the extra care

and guidance, given by the staff. They have all been extra vigilant throughout and my brother has been Covid free because of this care. He has also been mentally strong, again due to the way information has been delivered to him throughout. No mean feat! This has been vital for his well being. Thank you so much. You are all very special people and deserve recognition for all you continually do for the residents. Hat’s off to you. Kind regards.

My brother has lived at the Hollies for many years. The team there are fantastic! The care my brother get is first class. The team have an amazing, caring attitude towards all the residents. They go above and beyond to help everyone to live as normal a life as possible. They adapt to each one of the

residents’ needs. They keep us updated and let us know, if and when he needs us, as we now live out of the area. The team leader is excellent with a can-do attitude and leads by example. There is always a warm, homely feeling whenever we go to visit. They handled COVID restrictions amazingly and did a wonderful job during a stressful time. My brother has lived in many other homes in the past but never settled anywhere, until he came here. They understand him and his needs. I can’t praise this team enough. Thank you for helping and looking after my brother.

My brother has been a resident at the Hollies for approximately 20 years, during this time I’ve visited him on a regular basis. What I have found over this period of time is that the staff are very professional, caring, friendly and approachable. The staff are very skilled at supporting my brother and myself, always available to have time with him when he is feeling a little low in himself and needs somebody to chat with. My brother, with his illness, would find it difficult to live a normal, everyday life and would be isolated outside of the Hollies. Within the Hollies, he is well provided for, nice healthy food, own room and a laundry service, but most of all people to communicate and interact with. My brother treats these people as familiar and the Hollies as his home. I can’t praise the staff enough for the care and friendliness they have shown to my brother and the other residents.
